Here is how you check to ensure that your Brownrice hosted email is configured for optimum email delivery:
- Ensure that your domains MX records are correct. https://support.brownrice.com/content/3/255/en/what-are-the-brownrice-mx-records.html
- You can check your MX records here: https://dnschecker.org/mx-lookup.php
- Ensure that your email domain has the correct SPF record in place: https://support.brownrice.com/content/3/278/en/what-should-i-use-for-my-spf-record.html
- You can check your SPF record here: https://easydmarc.com/tools/spf-lookup
- Ensure that the email program that you are sending from is using the Brownrice email servers to send email (i.e. Using gmail to send your Brownrice email won't work) https://support.brownrice.com/content/3/1/en/what-are-my-email-server-settings-and-which-email-programs-can-i-use-with-brownrice.html
If all of that is correct, try these trouble-shooting steps to see which emails make it to your intended recipient, and which do not, to ensure that nothing in the content of your emails are causing delivery problems:
- Have you received any bounce messages when you send to this recipients? If so have you read it? Bounce messages can be hard to decifer but if you look closely you'll likely see why the message wasn't delivered. Feel free to forward the full bounce message to support@brownrice.com so that we can tell you what happened.
- Are you sending attachments when these emails aren't received by the recipient? If so what happens when you send to them without an attachment? (Attachments often cause delivery problems)
- Have you asked the recipient to check their spam folders? (You'd be surprised how often this happens)
- Have you asked the recipient to whitelist your email address?
- Have you tried sending an email to your recipient without including your email signature? (Often signatures can cause mail servers to view your incoming email as spam.)
If you've tried all of these trouble shooting steps and still can't get your message delivered feel free to contact us and we'll have a look.
