One of my guys was having trouble with his email, so I am attempting to fix it. I deleted and recreated his email account in Outlook Express, but am still getting an error on "send". The server error is

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'mail.gcisnow.com', Server: 'mail.gcisnow.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

I have tried many configurations, but am still unable to send using the brownrice server. I was also unable to access the setup info that is specific to OE on the brownrice support sight. It would not let me in with my username or password that I use to access my email account or the mail server. Different username and PW required to access this area?

Hi Roger!

The issue here is with your person's ISP. Many ISP's now block outgoing email (on port 25) to prevent spammers from using their networks to send spam. Because of this common issue we setup an alternate port for people to send email through our servers.

Follow the steps in this FAQ entry and he'll be sending email from anywhere, always.
